First details before leaving.

So I'll be leaving Rome on Monday and I guess the blog is gonna be updated a little less until I'm back.

I'll be working on the final episodes, they still need a lot of rewriting... but I can see the end of the first season now... and I get the chance to thank my precious story editor Giovanni Masi for being such a patient mate.

Of course I'm going to describe this project more and more as we go on, today I can say the first season of STUCK is going to be 10 episodes long.  Each episode should last less then 10 minutes... Maybe the pilot could be a bit longer... we have no format restrictions, we just want to be very intense :)

STUCK is going to be set in Italy but we're going to use English as our language.
Subtitles in many other languages will be available.

Riccardo Sardonè is going to play the lead male role.

As for the rest of the cast, we're working on that...

I'll keep you posted.

there you go MANIFESTO

Just so you know, me and Riccardo chose a name for our company, and the name is THERE YOU GO.
This is our Manifesto... (yes I know it's only July, but  September 1st sounds much more appropriate for becoming a memorable date, doesn't it?)

Italy, September 1st 2011

We’re about to witness the death of Television as we know it.
We’re not going to miss it.
We’ve had enough.
We don’t like the passive attitude of watching tv the way we were raised to.
We want a real choice.
We want to give others a choice.
We accept the idea of commercials, but we don’t accept the idea of interruption.
We don’t like the idea of control.
This is no time for art2, no art for itself.
Art needs people.
We want to be where the people are.
Online.
Wherever. Whenever. Whatever.
The future is just over there.
There is almost here.
We want to be there when it happens.
We want to be there with you.

So
THERE YOU GO.

Previously in my life...

After graduating in film directing at the National School of Cinema (Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia), the most prestigious and selective film school in Italy, and possibly one of the most ancient film schools ever,
after spending almost 4 years of my life in a suspended womb of unrealistic expectations,
I realized the world outside was very different from what I dreamt.

The world was collapsing, some directors jumped on the boat of 1900 way of film-making, some were too late… the boat sailed, my generation was left on the banks.

I have to say I could clearly see a big big storm on the horizon, and I wondered if that boat was actually going somewhere... in the end, I didn’t care too much.

‘cause on the banks often come epiphanies.
And I got mine.

What was I loving the most about the idea of filmmaking?
The red carpet?
Sitting on a 13 meters crane?

I just thought “fuck it”. Maybe I’ll get it, maybe I won’t, but what I really want my life to be is
...the one of a storyteller.

And I was lucky enough to witness the birth of digital filmmaking.
The birth of internet.

The world was collapsing, the crowds were moving.
My point was “I want to tell people my stories”,
So I’m going to tell them, despite the circumstances.

But I wasn’t alone during the process.
I happened to meet Riccardo (Sardonè) on my way, and we really felt the same urge.
So we decided to join forces.
He came up with a brilliant idea which I developed, he liked it, now we’re working on it together.
This idea gave birth to STUCK, a web series project.

Then we realized we needed a Manifesto…
